Every time I look at the page view counter I am amazed at the foreign readership. There are several European and Asian countries there everyday. What amazes me is the non English speaking readers are taking the time to digest my daily dribble. I read a few non English blogs and the translator I use leaves a lot to be desired. But with that and the pictures, I can understand what is being put forth. As a non picture poster boy for Introverts Anonymous, I appreciate all the views.
I took french for 7 years and all I can do is count up to 49, ask how are you, and what time is it?. Not much to show for 7 years of learning. I could read it much better than I could speak it. As for understanding it spoken, it all sounded the same to me.
I think my left brain shuts down when it comes to anything but English. I'm of Italian descent and I had a desire to learn that, I tried but I couldn't. Learning another language just isn't in the cards for me. I am impressed with the all bilingual readers of my blog. Bob is french and does his blog in English. Stefan is German who I have read posting comments in both languages. And there is Jonas Jensen who I think is the master of 3 or more. Sylvain is from Belgium and I believe uses french. I'm impressed with that ability to think, read, write, and converse in more than one language.
